A newspaper article about Nate's Place can be viewed here.

THE HEAVILIN HERALD
MAY, 2006

This has been a busy visit to Redlands. Glen’s radioactive seed implantation occurred on March 31. He has been released by the doctor. We will know more about the impact of the procedure after a blood test in about two or three months. Glen is feeling fine, and we are expecting the cancer to be destroyed.

On April 26, Arrowhead Christian Academy dedicated Nate’s Place, a memorial garden which will provide a quiet and beautiful place for the students. Marilyn spoke to the student chapel earlier that day and then Glen and Marilyn both spoke at the dedication. Marilyn was interviewed by a reporter from the Redlands Daily Facts, and we were speechless when we saw the paper the next day.

This beautiful picture and article appeared on the center of the front page. The Lord has done it again! All through the past 23 years, we have seen God repeatedly orchestrate recognition of Nate and God’s grace in ways we could never arrange.
The dedication of the garden was beautiful. We are grateful to Arrowhead Christian Academy and to Administrator Steve Hicok and his wife, Laurie for all of the work they put into this tribute.
We were again so impressed with how God has used Nathan’s death to minister to people all over the world and to bring honor to God, Himself.
The dedication couldn’t have been more perfect from so many of our friends attending, many having known Nate, to the ACA choir singing, to the dedicatory prayer by our pastor, Lowell Linden, to the unveiling of the plaque. Everything was in place and definitely God-ordained.

The garden is just to the right of the main entrance to the school. To the left of the waterfall are five rose bushes in honor of all five of our children. The roses will be red and white, the school colors.

We plan to leave Redlands on Monday, May 1. We will be making many stops to visit friends along our way to New Jersey. We will spend our summer at America’s Keswick in Whiting, New Jersey and plan to arrive there after the middle of June.

Please pray with us for Safety on the road
Renewed health for Glen
Continued good health for Marilyn
Good progress in Marilyn’s studies
That God will continue to use us in His service.

We appreciate each of you, your prayers, and your friendship.

In Him,

Glen and Marilyn Heavilin
