November 2012

Since Marilyn wrote last month, we have had a very eventful trip. We have visited many friends and relatives, been entertained by many great talents and celebrated a poignant anniversary, our 54th.

We saw our friends in Bloomington, IN, Jack and Carol Peterman, and Mary Black in Brownsburg, IN. enjoyed meals with George and Cathy Heavilin, Dan Black, Karen and Walt Willett, Wally and Vicki Swanson, Glenda Hamman, Caleb Heavilin, and Matt and Kate Heavilin.

Walt and Karen

We had the privilege of celebrating Marilyn’s brother Walt and Karen’s 41st anniversary and Karen’s 62nd birthday with them, and we were also able to drive Walt and Karen to Karen’s chemo treatments twice. Please continue to pray for Karen. She is in excellent spirits and is responding very well to the chemotherapy.

Marilyn and Elvis

We spent our anniversary at Graceland. Marilyn’s gift from Glen was her picture with Elvis. What fun! We also got a picture of us at the gates of Graceland.

Glen, Marilyn, Vicki, Wally

We finished off the day by having dinner with our friends Wally and Vicki. We met them several years ago at the RV park in Morro Bay, CA. Vicki’s birthday is the same day as our anniversary.

We then visited our friend Glenda in North Little Rock. We had a delicious dinner with her and she gave us a wonderful tour of North Little Rock

Dusty Rogers and Brule

The next day we drove to Branson and saw The Haygoods, SIX, and Dusty Rogers perform.

Deb taking a picture of her blue hair

We arrived in Peculiar, MO on Wednesday. We set up the rig quickly and went to meet Matt and Kate for dinner. We all then went to Matt’s church to see the lady with the blue hair who happened to be our beautiful daughter-in-law, Deb. Her hair may well remain blue for the length of our visit, but Deb always gives her all for a project.

We want to thank you all for praying for our health and safety. Marilyn has had much pain in her left great toe and her ankle, but after a visit to the local ER, the doctor has put her on antibiotics for ten days. Please pray with us that the antibiotics will take care of the problem and she will be pain free at last. We are praying that the ability to walk will improve as well.

Please pray also for the people in the Eastern US who are dealing with the devastation and aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Many of our friends are facing damage to property and loss of power, including Keswick. For Keswick this will mean a great loss of income.

We plan to stay in this area until after Thanksgiving and then we will be heading toward California.

Much love,

Glen and Marilyn Heavilin
