MAY 2013

We are back in Redlands and our stay began with lots of excitement. We arrived uneventfully on Friday afternoon, but by late Friday evening Marilyn was visiting the ER at Redlands Community Hospital because of an A-Fib event. When her heart rate had risen to 160 and there was almost no response to the medication, we knew it was necessary to visit the ER. She was released at 2:30a.m.

The following Monday we drove the rig to Fontana to have a ‘basement’ door replaced. The door was a simple fix, but while the rig was at the shop, it was discovered that the gas tank was leaking. We are grateful to God that we didn’t have a fire or an explosion as we have no idea when the leak began.  So a hotel stay that was to be four nights grew to eleven nights. We had been in Redlands 15 nights, but had only spent 3 nights in our park space! It is so nice to be back in our home again.

Wayne Scott & Marilyn

There are some positives to our story.  We had dinner or lunch with about ten friends. And we were able to attend Life House Theater to see Anne of Green Gables.  We also got to visit with our dear friend Wayne Scott who is the founder of Life House Theater.

The Lincoln Shrine in Redlands

We also had the privilege of attending our home church in Redlands where we got to see many friends and that is always a blessing. We also were able to attend the GIFT (Growing In Faith Together) Group we have been part of for over 21 years. We enjoyed just driving around Redlands, a very picturesque town.

On May 1, Glen spent the morning emptying the storage unit where we stored our ‘stuff’ since 2004. With the help of two hired movers, all of the contents were placed in a POD to eventually arrive in Kansas by September. He was finished by noon. Marilyn is very anxious to unpack the boxes to see what she stored.

The next couple of weeks are taken up with doctor’s appointments. Please  pray that a doctor will get to the cause of pain and swelling in Marilyn’s lower limbs. She walks very slowly, tires easily, and loses her balance frequently,

We plan to leave Redlands on June 12. Our national park tour will begin with Yosemite after we spend a few days with Mellyn.

Please continue to pray for our safety and good health.

Much love in HIM,

Glen and Marilyn
