JUNE 2013

Well here we are.  The last day of May.  Tomorrow will be June already.  Half of the year is gone so soon.  We plan to leave here on June 11 to visit Yosemite national park.  Since this may be one of our last visits to Redlands we have taken a short picture tour to add to our treasures of this area.

Morey Mansion

First we saw Morey Mansion.  At one time Morey was a bed and breakfast.  In Roses in December Marilyn told the story of taking Glen there a few years after Nate died.  That was the beginning of our moving to Redlands.  This house will always hold special memories for us.

Kimberly Crest

The next picture is of Kimberly Crest where we were docents for several years.  The house was: owned by Helen Kimberly who was married to John Kimberly of Kimberly-Clark Company most known for Kleenex.  The interior of the house was decorated by Louis Comfort Tiffany and still houses his designs.

Our house on Grant Street

As we worked our way toward the historic district we had to take a picture of our former home.  We lived there for 18 years and have lots of good  memories there. That was quite a transition going from ain 11 room  house to a 350 square foot motor home, but we did it.

Smiley Library

Next we have a picture of the Smiley Library.  Marilyn recalls that much of Roses in December was written in that library.  The inside is very inspirational.

Redlands Bowl

The final picture is of Redlands bowl.  Our family enjoyed many presentations even before we lived in Redlands.  Our joy came when we were able to walk to the bowl so that we didn’t have to search for a parking space. All summer long every Tuesday and Friday evenings we could count on a wonderful program at the bowl.

Last week we saw three doctors for Marilyn with few final conclusions, Her visits included an ultrasound which was negative and we’re still waiting for conclusions on the MRI. Please  pray that the results will be informative and will bring this episode to a good conclusion.

We are looking forward to living in an apartment in Kansas.  We can’t really say we are excited about living in Kansas, but as Marilyn tells people the only reason for moving to Kansas is because your son lives there, and we want to be near Matt.

We are praying that Marilyn’s pain will lessen and her mobility will greatly improve.  Please continue to pray for our safety and good health.

We have enjoyed getting to see our friends again.  They are all special people and will be greatly missed.

Much love in Him,

Glen and Marilyn
