How can it be July already? We have started our journey to visit some of the national parks. We left Redlands on June 11, and we have been traveling ever since .We had planned to visit Mike and Mellyn at the beginning of our trip and we were delighted to learn that the Attic Wolves would be performing at Mike and Mellyn’s church on Father’s Day evening. So Glen had the joy of having his entire family together on Father’s Day. The concert was wonderful and though very short, the visit was marvelous, too. The band made its Western tour in less than two weeks and are now back home in Kansas. It was a very successful tour, and we loved hearing them. We always do.

We visited Yosemite National Park. It has been years since we visited Yosemite, and many things have changed It was 1984 when we were there last. We took Mike and Mellyn and Matt and Deb before Matt and Deb were married in our Class C RV.

This time we had lunch at the beautiful Ahwahnee Lodge restaurant, and we took the tram ride. That was a lot of fun. Of course, we did hear the guide’s explanation as to how Yosemite came about. The Bible really doesn’t say how it happened except that God did it. That’s why when Marilyn gets to heaven, she said she is going to ask God for a rerun of creation! She just wants to see how God did it!

We visited Marilyn’s cousins Jim and Geordina Willett in Oregon . Jim is always trying to figure out how Marilyn is related to him.  Their grandfathers were brothers, and their dads were cousins. Mel, Marilyn’s dad, lived in Clinton’s, Jim’s dad, house for several years. Marilyn recalls Mel stating that he received Christ through Jim’s grandmother, Grace Willett. So that’s how they are related! Jim and Geordina have a beautiful condo in Hillsboro, Oregon. We visited their church and were truly blessed. We also got to see their daughter Beth and meet their granddaughter Johanna. Johanna will be going to Azusa Pacific this fall.

We also had the special joy of eating at our absolutely favorite restaurant in the USA. The food is always delicious, and the service is impeccable. Have you ever seen a wait person iron a tablecloth to get all of the wrinkles out after it is on the table? I think that is the first time we’ve seen it, but we saw that happen at Beverly’s.

We had at least three people taking care of us while we ate dinner. There is always so much to watch out the windows at the restaurant. We were definitely entertained. Oh, by the way, they happen to be famous for their Orange rolls which are always very, very good.

Now we are in Glacier National Park. We took a one hour boat ride Sunday afternoon and also returned on Monday, taking a fun drive around the park.  We saw a deer having lunch, but was quite willing to take a break and pose for a picture!

We also saw a small body of water called Jackson Creek. Marilyn loved the sound of the water; so much so that she actually recorded the sounds of the creek’s rushing water.

We told you in the last newsletter that Marilyn was scheduled for an MRI on her ankle . The report stated that everything was fine and the test showed no problem in the ankle. We guess that is good news, but she is still walking slowly and having a fair amount of pain. She has walked quite a bit around the parks, so that is progress.

We received word that the apartment we wanted will be available after September 1. We are getting excited about moving in. We will give you more details in next month’s newsletter.

We were saddened to hear of the death of Linda Huff, the wife of Marilyn’s cousin Gene Huff . Linda was a strong Christian, and I know she is better off, but we will miss her. Please keep cousin Gene in your thoughts and prayers. Please also continue to pray for Marilyn’s sister-in-law Karen as her CA 125 is going up again. We have many friends who are battling cancer at the moment. Please keep them in your prayers.

Marilyn’s nephew JD and his wife Beth are expecting a baby girl in October. She is already named Aubrey Kaye.

Please continue to pray for our health and safety as we are now heading for Yellowstone National Park.

Much love in Him,

Glen and Marilyn
