JANUARY 2014

Caleb and Erika

2014 is looking very promising already. Caleb announced that he had asked Erika Pyles to marry him! The wedding will probably be in August or September 2014. We are thrilled. It apparently took a lot of effort and planning to ask the girl if she would marry him. Kate and Nate had to plan a strategy so that they could take pictures of the life-changing event. Caleb also had to plan a reason to stop by Grammie and Grandpa’s place so that Erika could show them her ring. As far as we know, it all took place without any problems. Erika is a senior at Ozark Christian College. We will certainly let you know all of the details of their plans when we know.

We had the privilege of attending a concert with the Canadian Brass in Kansas City. It was a fun concert and we encourage you to attend if you have the chance.

We also enjoyed the concert of the King’s Kids, a group of school-aged children from Deb’s church. Deb directed the group and we are very proud of her. She did an excellent job.

We spent Christmas day and Christmas Eve at Matt’s house. Matt spent most of his time ‘helping ‘in the kitchen. Kate has developed excellent cooking skills. Kate did a beautiful job of cooking Lutefisk for her Papa. We heard Deb’s dad say it was the best Lutefisk he had had in years. Now Marilyn wanted nothing to do with the traditional Swedish food, but Deb’s dad said it was very good. It was very nice for us to be close to Matt during the holidays.

We are now on our way to Morro Bay, California. We had a lot of snow in Kansas, but since we are driving as far south as we can, we have had clear whether thus far. We are looking forward to arriving on 16 January. We plan to visit friends along the way and spend a few days in Redlands before we arrive in Morro Bay.

Please continue to pray for our health and safety.

Much love in Him,

Glen and Marilyn
