APRIL 2014

We will be home tomorrow, Friday, April 4, in Kansas in our apartment. We left Morro Bay on March 17, and spent a week in Redlands. We saw many people at church, and we enjoyed meals with Jean Nease, Ken and Harriett Clark, Ken and June Durr, Lowell and Shirley Linden, Pete and Nancy Botten, and Lauren and Randy Briggs. For the first time we got to enjoy the Redlands Symphony and greet many Redlands friends. We also got to hear Fred Swan play the University of Redlands Chapel pipe organ. What a thrill! Many thanks to Lauren and Randy Briggs.

Marilyn managed not to have to cook the entire week! What fun! And what planning on her part!

Marilyn talked with her sister-in-law recently. The new chemo plan is working; the CA 125 went from 26,000+ to 9000+. That is definitely good news! Thank you for all your prayers, and please continue to pray for Karen.

Marilyn is looking forward to seeing her doctors in Kansas again. Please pray for her as well. We can’t say there is a lot of improvement, perhaps some in her walking. Please pray that a definite diagnosis will come soon.

We have had excellent weather for driving back to Kansas. The only snow we have seen is on the mountain tops, and that is very sparse. We are near Wichita tonight. Last night the AC came on frequently during the night. Tonight we are running the heat. There has been a significant drop in the temperature and some gusty winds. Fortunately, we think we are ahead of the storms.

We have enjoyed eating at Cracker Barrel, Marilyn’s favorite restaurant, several times on this trip back to Kansas.

We are here!

We arrived at Overland Park on Friday afternoon about 3: 15. Because it was a weekend, we had all weekend to unpack. It is now Sunday, and Glen is almost finished. We enjoyed having dinner with Matt and Kate on Saturday night and we loved being back at church and our Sunday school class this morning. We were sorry to hear that the pastor will be gone at the end of April, but that does seem to be par for the course at the Nazarene church since it is often the source for leadership in the Nazarene church. Dr. Power will be the district superintendent for the Hawaii area starting in May. We have loved having Dr. Power as our pastor for the past several years and will miss him greatly. We are looking forward to seeing what God has in store for us next at this church.

Have a happy Easter, and remember,

HE IS RISEN, HE IS RISEN INDEED!

Thank you for your prayers for us for good health and safety.

Much Love,

Glen and Marilyn
