JULY, 2014

So far, July has been a very busy month. We realize we are only a couple of days into it, but, it has been very busy so far. At the end of June, our friends from California, Lowell and Shirley Linden, visited us for a couple of days.

Lowell and Shirley

We visited the World War I monument and Museum, the Hallmark Card Company and Museum, and we had lunch at the Harvey restaurant in Union Station. We really enjoyed lunch at the union station.

Pastor Linden has just retired as the pastor of the First Congregational Church of Redlands after being their pastor for 38 years. While they were in the Kansas City area,  they were able to see the baseball game between the Kansas City Royals and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Shirley is quite a baseball fan.

We were honored that they chose to visit us on their trip.

Marilyn’s sister-in-law Karen is responding fairly well to the stronger chemotherapy, and her brother Walt, is recovering from his surgery quite well. Thank you so much for praying.

We think the neurologist is very pleased with Marilyn’s progress. However Marilyn doesn’t seem to be having a great response to the medication for Parkinson’s. The doctor suggested, and we agreed that we should try the medication for another month, and we should increase the dosage so that she will be taking a full tablet three times a day.

Another complication is that she broke out with shingles last week. This is her fifth bout with shingles. Yes, yes we know about the shot,  and she will be receiving the inoculation for shingles as soon as it is safe to give it to her. This bout has been extremely painful for her and we would truly appreciate prayer for quick healing.

We appreciate your continued prayer for us and we’re still planning to visit Morro Bay for 60 days beginning in January.

Our son-in-law Mike participated in the Western states endurance race, and he completed 100 miles in a little over 26 hours. We’re very proud of him.

Much love,

Marilyn and Glen Heavilin
