The Royals didn’t win, but we sure had fun just watching the entire town of Kansas City encouraging the Royals and letting them know that they were supported.

KC Fountain

Kansas City is known as the city of fountains, but the amazing thing was that many of the fountains turned blue. While the Clarks were here for their annual visit we just couldn’t resist taking this picture.

I think we should be tour guides for Kansas City. We bought a newspaper that comes on Sunday and Wednesday just so that we could know what was going on in Kansas City. We found out that we could watch some of the American Royal horse competition at no cost. Glen loves to watch horses, so we spent a morning watching the horses jump the hurdles. That was really fun.

We have discovered that this is a home base for many companies and some of those companies provide free museums. This is the home base for companies such as Applebee’s, Sprint, and Hallmark. Hallmark provides a free museum which tells of the founding of Hallmark card company by Mr. Joyce Hall.

Marilyn and Glen anniversaryWe were also able to celebrate our 56th anniversary with Matt and Deb at Longhorn Steakhouse. We love being together with them and are extremely proud of our kids. We got a phone call from Mellyn on that day. Glen blessed me with holiday china dishes as a gift on our anniversary.

Today is Marilyn’s 77th birthday. We will celebrate it by going to a dinner at the church, and we will have dinner with Matt and Deb and the family on Friday evening. We went out for lunch today, and Marilyn was especially blessed by receiving over 100 birthday wishes on Facebook from dear friends at ACA, Keswick, Redlands, Cambria, and Cajon High School as well as from family and friends all over the country.

Marilyn’s health seems much improved and the ankle pain has greatly diminished. We are so thankful to God for hearing our prayers and petitions for her release from pain. The specialist seems quite convinced that Marilyn has Parkinson’s disease mainly because of her response to the Parkinson’s medication. Marilyn is not convinced of the diagnosis as yet but she can’t deny the major improvement in her health since she has been taking the Parkinson’s medication.

Please pray for Glen. On a routine exam the Dr. found a nodule on Glen’s thyroid. Since that time there has been an additional ultrasounds and he has an appointment with the endocrinologist on November 17. We are trusting it is nothing serious, but we would certainly appreciate your prayer on his behalf.

We are planning a trip to Branson, Missouri with the church group on November 13-15. Please pray for our safety and health during this time.

We have a wedding coming up in about one month. Caleb and Erika will be married on December 20, and the environment is starting to get very exciting around here. Mike and Mellyn are coming and that makes it especially exciting for us. Matt and Deb were married on December 22, 1984, so we are remembering all of the events then as well as now.

We attended the funeral for Glen’s Aunt Martha on October 26 in Camdenton, Missouri. Glen’s brother and his wife from Indiana drove down, and his three uncles and his aunt came from Wisconsin, Georgia, Michigan, and Indiana.
