HEAVILIN HERALD July, 2012

Karen Willett modeling the dress she has chosen for the wedding

We left Kansas on May 22, stopped in Niles, Mi to visit Marilyn’s cousin Sharon and arrived in Indianapolis on May 29. Our first stop was to visit Marilyn’s sister-in-law Karen. We were able to drive Karen and Walt to the hospital to have Karen’s port put into place and for two chemo treatments. Thank you for the great response to Marilyn’s request for prayer for Karen. Karen called today and your prayers are being answered. The CA 125 has decreased significantly and Karen is feeling so much better. Whether the improvement is due to the replacing of the stent or because of the chemo treatments doesn’t really matter.  We are just so grateful to God for the improvement in Karen’s health. We ask that you continue to pray for Karen that she will be in good health and be able to enjoy J.D’s wedding on July 28.

Marilyn also had a great time taking Karen shopping in preparation for the wedding. On chemo days we were also able to do simple shopping for Karen.

Dan Black and us

While in Indianapolis we also got to visit with our friend Dan Black and drive around our former hometown of Brownsburg, Indiana.

We were able to attend the Heavilin reunion in Mahomet, Illinois. It was wonderful to see our relatives again.

Do you think these men in the bottom row just might be related?  This could be the official Heavilin pose!

Then we went to Lancaster, PA and visited our special friends, Jack Noel and Donna and Brian Bitler and their family. We also had a lovely visit with Marilyn’s cousin, Monica. Lancaster means fried chicken! So Marilyn enjoyed the food, too.

And in conclusion, we are now at Keswick, our summer home. Thank you all for your prayers. We appreciate you,

Glen and Marilyn Heavilin
