HEAVILIN HERALD SEPTEMBER 2012

“ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END”

Glen and Orv

On Monday we received word that our dear friend and counselor, Orv Nease went home to be with Jesus. Orv was 93 and an amazing Mexican Train player. He just loved to beat Marilyn! Winning against her brought a twinkle to our dear friend’s eyes. Orv will be greatly missed by his many friends, by his wife Jean, his children and grandchildren.

Marilyn had copied this Chaucer quote some time ago because we have made a decision not to return to Keswick next summer. We feel we have God’s definite direction on this even though we are not sure what is next for us. Please pray with us that we will receive God’s obvious and specific direction. We do know that the summer of 2013 we want to revisit many National parks, something we could not do each summer since we were at Keswick, but after that…who knows?

Going away cake by Joey

Keswick had a special staff chapel just for us where we heard staff members share the impact we had on their lives…we had no idea that time would be such a blessing for us.  And then we enjoyed cake made by Joey from the Colony of Mercy. The cake was delicious and we do appreciate Joey giving us such a special gift.

We plan to visit Sue Thomas after we leave here. Our current plan is to leave Keswick on the 10th of September and then we will go to Maine, see Sue in Vermont, Marilyn’s aunt in Owosso, Michigan, Marilyn’s cousin in Niles, Michigan, our family in Indianapolis, our son in Olathe, KS, friends and family in Arizona and we plan to be in California from December until April. We plan to spend some time in Redlands and even more time in Morro Bay, California.

We have had a good time this summer hearing all of the excellent speakers, discovering special places with our friends such as the Boardwalk here at Keswick with our dear friends Rich and Sue Jarmer, the Music Man Ice Cream Shop with the Jarmers, the Lewises and Ruth Raws and a great deli in Island Heights with Rich and Sue. God has blessed us with many, many good   memories, and we are ever so grateful for the privilege of serving our Lord in this place for the past 11 summers.

We will keep you posted as God’s plan for us unfolds.

Much love in Him,

Glen and Marilyn Heavilin
