It’s February already and we have some anniversaries to remember.
It has been30 years since we received the call that our Nathan had died in a car crash caused by a drunk driver. It still seems like it happened yesterday rather than 30 years ago because that event changed our lives forever.
We had the privilege of inviting a couple from the Community Presbyterian Church of Cambria, Bob and Barb Mayberry to join us in launching the balloons and eating lunch together. We choose a different couple each anniversary so that we get to become acquainted with more people each year.
We always enjoy our views in this area, and we especially enjoy the tall ships that arrive in early February and travel out into the ocean beyond the harbor several times in the week they are visiting in our area.
We were saddened to receive a call telling us of the death of our dear friend Mary Black of Brownsburg. Mary’s husband, Jim, was our family doctor and delivered our last three children. Mary was Marilyn’s first close friend in Brownsburg. She attended Bethesda Baptist Churchwhere we first met her when Mellyn was just two weeks old. We had the privilege of visiting Mary at her home when we were in Indiana last October. Mary has five adult children and she will be greatly missed by family and friends.
We enjoyed attending an event that featured Garrison Keillor on the Cal Poly campus in San Luis Obispo. He certainly is a wonderful story teller. We watched him talk for nearly two hours with NO NOTES!!!
We plan to visit some of the national parks and we will most likely start with Yosemite National Park in June.
Marilyn is doing fairly well managing the pain in her feet, legs, and knees. Please continue to pray for her. Marilyn is asking that each of you will pray that as we move to Kansas, God will guide us to just the right medical team. Please continue to pray for our sister-in-law, Karen. Her last chemo treatment will be March 12.
Much love,
Glen and Marilyn
