The summer is nearly over, and so is our trip. We visited Yosemite National Park, Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Teton National Park, Mt. Rushmore National Monument, and Crazy Horse Monument and Cody, Wyoming, the home of Buffalo Bill.
We were privileged to visit Yellowstone for over two weeks. While we have been there before, we never had time to really enjoy the points of interest. We also got to see a brown bear, a grizzly, many bison and many elk. We learned to appreciate the beauty in God’s creation.
We were allowed to enjoy the beauty of the buildings as we were privileged to eat in the uniquely structured dining rooms at the various parks.
We also were able to eat at the Irma Hotel, founded by Buffalo Bill Cody in Cody, Wyoming. The hotel is old and beautifully constructed as well.
We also had the privilege of visiting many friends along the way, some of which you will see pictures of, which means Marilyn remembered to take the camera out of her purse and actually take pictures! We got to visit Marilyn’s cousins Jim and Geordina Willett, our entire family, Glen’s cousin Mary and her daughter, Pete and Pam Younkman , Paul and Nancy Searcey, Julie Christensen, Amal and Carol Bejjani, Brenda Shepard, and Sharon Cronkright.
Within the next few days we hope to see Mickey Willett, Beth and JD Willett, Walt and Karen Willett, George and Cathy Heavilin, Jack and Carol Peterman, and Frank and Cathy James. We are hoping to work a couple more people in as well.
We have had a wonderful summer but great concern has come in at times. We are very concerned about Marilyn’s sister-in-law Karen as her CA 125 continues to rise. Please include her in your prayers daily if at all possible.
In all of our travels, today is the first day we came upon what appeared to be a very serious accident involving a Greyhound bus and a semi-truck and trailer. We have never seen so many emergency vehicles gathered so quickly as were there today. Our hearts were sick at the sight. According to the news reports there were no fatalities which means that God definitely intervened, as I’m sure He heard our prayers for the people involved in the accident.
Marilyn is still harassed by the pain in her ankle, and she is walking very slow.
Please continue to pray for our health and safety and our adjustment to the new apartment in Kansas which should be available by September 9.
Much love in Him,
Glen and Marilyn
